About
Hey there traveler! 👀
I’m Justin, and in my free time I try to take photos of the world outside. This website has a few of my favorites.
Like most of you, landscape photography and travel is not my full time job, as much as I’d like it to be. My wife and I try to cram as much sightseeing, hiking and photography into as few days as possible, usually taking one or two big trips per year and sprinkling in some hikes on the weekends. This means we aren’t always making it to each location at the best time of day, things are chaotic, I don’t always have the right equipment, sometimes we oversleep and McDonalds is occasionally more important than catching a sunrise. I’m sure many of you can relate.
I shoot Fujifilm (and more recently a Leica Q jk I sold the Q), not for some grand technical reason (even though they are great cameras), but because I like them. They make me happy. In a world where everything is incredibly technical and perfect, having a camera that makes you want to take photos is so important. Check the blog for a full breakdown of what’s in my bag (lol the blog needs…work, check back later).
I’ll share some thoughts about cameras, photography, hiking and backpacking, travel, and some editing. This is basically a journal of my thoughts on the state of the creative world as I see it, and how to navigate it.
Happy reading, happy exploring, happy shooting, happy living! This world is a grand place and it deserves to be documented, hopefully this encourages you to go touch some grass and find some big rocks to climb.
